Skandis Fine Wines, LLC, owned and operated by Christine
Skandis, was started in January 2001. After spending 4 long
years and thousands of dollars establishing all the necessary
Federal and State licensing Skandis Fine Wines LLC was finally
able to import the company's first bottle of wine! In September
of 2004 Skandis Fine Wines LLC became the exclusive United
States importer for wines produced by Cantina Sociale del
Canavese. The Italian wine producer's 300 vineyards are
located approximately 100 kilometers north of Barolo region
in the Piedmont Italy region and which feature the rare ancient
roman Erbaluce grape.
We
are presenting a portfolio of wines that are available for
the first time in the USA imported exclusively by SKANDIS
FINE WINES, LLC who focuses its import efforts on rare,
unique, indigenous grape varietals.
Portfolios
below are listed by region. We are in the process of adding
other portfolios and regions of rare grape varietals. Please
check back at our Web site for news on other exciting and
rare wines that we are importing and where to find them.

The United States premier of these wines occurred in New
York October 2004. These wines received rave reviews at
feature tastings including The Carlyle, Tavern on the Green
and the "New York Wine & Food Expo" at Lyndhurst
Mansion, Tarrytown NY.
At
the 2004 "New York Wine & Food Expo" our rare,
unique, indigenous grape varietal “Erbaluce”
received the honor of the Number One featured wine "Indigenous
Grape Varieties: What's Behind Some of Italy's Most Popular
Wines."
